I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Lake Ouachita, Beaver Lake, and Table Rock Lake are just a few of the incredible lakes in Arkansas. While these lakes are some of the best in our state, oftentimes, they can get a bit crowded. And let’s face it, sometimes we want to avoid the crowds and find a peaceful escape. Luckily, we found a little-known lake in Arkansas where you can enjoy easy fishing, kayaking, camping, and more. Lake Columbia in Waldo is a sweet little haven that is perfect for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Come with us to explore this scenic lake and all its amenities.
I don't know about you, but I love traveling off the beaten path to discover hidden gems. Lake Columbia is one such gem that's located just 10 miles outside of Magnolia, Arkansas.
You can fish along the shoreline, from the pier, or bring your boat and launch from one of the 3 boat ramps on the lake. If fishing is not your thing, then grab your kayak or canoe and spend the day floating while enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature.
Or better yet, on warmer days, make a splash in the calm cool waters of the lake. You'll want to bring the kids along to enjoy this favorite pastime activity.
While the lake is great for a day trip, we recommend bringing the RV and staying for a weekend long adventure. The recreational area features a bathhouse, picnic tables, grills, and everything you need for a camping getaway.
So, if you're searching for a haven where you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, as well as camping, without the crowds, plan a trip to Lake Columbia. If you ask me, this secluded lake in Arkansas is worthy of a visit.
