In 2000, Mike “Sarge” Davis, Ron Blasingame, and Steve Lucchi, aka the Southern Gentlemen’s Culinary Society, placed second in the Memphis-in-May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest.
Knowing that they had a winning recipe, they re-entered the competition 2 years later and won THE top prize of WORLD CHAMPIONS in the Whole Hog category.
Hence the name Whole Hog Café, and that winning recipe is now enticing taste buds in several states across the country.
