Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area is an expansive park filled with recreation for all nature lovers. If you don’t want your outdoor escape to end then take advantage of this awesome trail added within the past few years. The Hobbs Karst Loop, a trail loved by both hikers and bikers, has also pretty recently added new campsites along the way. Hike or bike into an open pad and enjoy this whimsical Hobbs State Park camping experience:

With over 12,000 spectacular acres and just about every mind-blowing natural feature you could possibly imagine or want in a state park, Hobbs can supply endless outdoor adventures to you, your family, and your friends.
One trail in the area has recently added another gateway to adventure. Let's hit the trail to see more.

The Hobbs Karst Loop is a winding 7.8-mile tour around the park. The loop is popular for mountain bikers and it's even an Arkansas State Parks Monument Trail! The State Park's website defines these trails perfectly, "These shared-use trails are professionally crafted by some of the world's best trail builders to showcase natural iconic beauty through innovative and sustainable design and build." If you're not confident on two wheels, no need to fret! The trail is open to hikers as well.
The paths to all of the trails and many attractions are very well marked along the way.

Families can accomplish them in just a few hours, depending on their pace. Just be sure to pack extra snacks in case you get hungry! The Karts Loop Trail earned its name from the "karst" landscape. Karst is the water soluble limestone found on the trail. These rocks can contain fossilized life from when the area had been covered by the ocean.

These six domes were completed by the Hufft Design Firm at the end of 2020. According to their Facebook Page, these architectural shells, "were created as vehicles for immersion into the land, fortifying exploration on the Hobbs State Park Monument Trails. Their parabolic shape complements the landscape and blur the lines between architectural element, art installation and naturally-occurring forms." That's a lot of architectural design work!
These campsites can be reached by bike or by foot.

The pack-in and pack-out sites are located about four miles from Page Sawmill Road. Designed parking is at the Monument Trailhead near the Visitor Center on Highway 12. Each pad can accommodate two tents and a vault toilet is near the campground.
These new structures are perfect for introducing young Arkansas nature lovers to the joys of backpacking or for anyone that just wants to enjoy a truly beautiful campground!

These campsites must be reserved in advance and are offered for a nominal fee each night. Simply head to the Head to state park website to book one of these gorgeous domes!
