It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, every now and again, you’ve got to stop and smell the…wildflowers. We know just the place, too – the Gaston Wildflower Garden Trail.
Located in Lakeview, Bull Shoals-White River State Park is famous for its world-class trout fishing. However, that’s just a portion of what the park has to offer.
North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists (NCAMN) maintains the trail by planting, seeding, and nurturing the flora that lines it and fills the surrounding area.
In addition to wildflowers, wildlife, such as birds and butterflies, is a common sight and often spotted at the feeders strategically placed throughout the length of the trail.
At just ¾ mile, the trail takes about an hour to complete. Of course, that doesn’t account for the time you take to admire the wildflowers, wildlife, and signage found along the trail.
