J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
There’s nothing better than great food in a great setting, and you can find both at lots of Natural State restaurants. One in particular, however, has such a homey feel to it that you’ll never want to leave. Part of that is because a long, long time ago a portion of the current restaurant really was someone’s home. With a long and interesting history, a cozy atmosphere and truly delectable food, Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse really is one of the homiest eateries in Arkansas.
Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse is located at 2883 AR-23 in Eureka Springs. It’s the kind of place you’ll need to call ahead about, though, so ring them up at (479) 253-5466 to make your reservation.
Right down to the screen door and lovely flower beds, you’ll feel welcomed as soon as you approach Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse.
Gaskins Cabin really does look like someone’s immaculately kept, beautifully landscaped home. You’ll be even more impressed to find out part of it really was once someone’s home.
The Gaskins Cabin was built in 1864, after the Gaskin family returned home at the close of the Civil War to find their farm had been burned and they needed a new home. That new home was a cabin, and that cabin is the heart of the Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse. You can still see the evidence of that heritage in the walls.
If you’re going to only do one thing in the restaurant business, you best do it well. What the Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse does is dinner service, and it’s absolutely fantastic.
You should definitely expect good steak from steakhouses, but the steak at Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse will defy even those high expectations. From prime rib to rib eyes to filets, the food at Gaskins isn’t just delicious, it’s absolutely delectable.
The food is so good, in fact, that it has become a favorite for people celebrating special occasions. They've got you covered for date night or your anniversary, but they're just as happy to serve you birthday dinner or even "yay! it's Friday!" dinner.
For great food in a homey setting, you can’t do any better than this charming, historic cabin. To make reservations, you can reach them at (479)253-5466.
