I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
All foodies know that you can taste when someone makes food with love. Like grandma’s food that was always made with that extra love and attention. Of course, the food always tastes much better, and eating it makes you feel warm inside, right? It’s the same feeling you’ll get when you take the first bite of Myrtie Mae’s food. This old-school Arkansas restaurant has been serving the best down-home cookin’ for years. And the mouthwatering fried chicken dinners are the best around.
Back in the 1920’s, Myrtie Mae's Cafe began in the small kitchen of, you guessed it, Myrtie Mae.
This hard-working mother cooked fried chicken along with some breakfast staples for folks traveling through that Eureka Springs area.
Eventually, Myrtie expanded her business to include cabins for the travelers as well as a cafe where they could have a good hearty meal to eat. Mount Air Cafe kept serving delicious home cooked meals for 20 years.
Today, Myrtie Mae’s Cafe is a no-fuss eatery located inside the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs. And best of all, the restaurant is still serving good ol’ down home-style meals.

You’ll also find grilled beef liver and meatloaf plates that will satisfy your hunger. Each dinner comes with a side salad, a muffin, and a choice of vegetable.
Along with the hearty home cooked meals, patrons love the salad bar that always has delicious homemade soups as well as other fresh fruits, veggies, and sauces.
Is your mouth watering for some of these down home cooked meals? If so, then head on over to Myrtie Mae’s to enjoy the home-style fried chicken dinner, you’ll be glad you did. Be sure to check out the website and Facebook page for any specials.
