I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
You might have read our article about the haunted battlefield at Pea Ridge National Military Park in northwest Arkansas. But did you know that this national park is one of the best places to enjoy the colorful autumn season? Yes folks, believe it or not, but the park comes alive bursting with vibrant seasonal splendor, making it the best fall destination in Arkansas. I believe that leaf-peeping season isn’t complete without a trip to this national park. So, come with me to marvel at the picturesque fall vistas at this enchanting northwest Arkansas destination.
Pea Ridge Military Park is sacred grounds for the bloody American Civil War battle in 1862, where thousands of brave men fought for what they believed in.
Moreover, the trails will be covered with fallen leaves which adds to the glorious autumn splendor.
At the height of the season, the trees will be glowing in the best way, so you'll want to take some breaks to bask in all the beauty that surrounds you.
Aside from the multi-use trails, you can also view the fall foliage from the East Overlook. From that vantage point, at 1,600 feet above sea level, you'll witness jaw-dropping autumn hues glowing from the battlefield.
And if you ask me, it belongs on your list this year. Certainly, you won't be disappointed.
So, will you add this fall destination in Arkansas to your list? Or have you visited the battlefield during the autumn season? If so, share your experience in the comments below. Be sure to visit the Pea Ridge National Military Park website for more information about the national park.
