The Cove And Canyon At Bob Boyer Park In Arkansas Will Have You Exploring For Hours
Living in the Natural State, we know better than to judge on appearances. After all, some of our best waterfalls can be found just a few feet from an unsuspecting highway. This little park in Midland has much more to explore beyond the parking lot. Take a hike and discover a beautiful cove and canyon!

The park is located on the south side of Midland, a tiny town in Sebastian County. From the road you'll be able to see the sprawling 470-acre park as well as its picnic pavilions and facilities. However, you'll want to head into the woods for the real adventure.

The Midland Infinity Nature Trail is perfect for anyone wanting a quick and easy meander through the woods. It's 1.7-miles long and perfect for families and four-legged friends. Keep in mind the trail is not paved but it is well-worn and marked.

This trail is about 3.5-miles long and ends with a splendid natural playground to explore. The path is best paired with a GPS map, such as this one.

The trail can be a little wooly depending on the season (but by no means a bush-whack) so do wear your favorite hiking boots. The trail peaks at Midland's hidden gem - Howard's Cove and Canyon. This waterfall and pool is a gorgeous little area that's perfect for photography or some simple meditation.

The waterfall here is dependent upon recent rains, however, keep in mind the trail will be muddy as well. An early spring or mid-fall trip to the park will offer the best balance of not-overgrown and still-flowing waterfall and trail.

Spend the afternoon exploring the trails around the park and enjoy the tranquility! It may not be quite as hidden, but another gem of the town is the Midland Country Kitchen. Refuel after your nature reconnection with an old-fashioned burger.
Do your research before hitting the trail by making sure you have your map ready to go. And, as always, leave no trace.
