Known as the “Little Golden Gate,” the Beaver Bridge is a preserved relic nestled in the Ozarks. This wooden suspension bridge is an Arkansas attraction everyone should see at least once. Enjoy the scenery, snap a picture, and experience a unique piece of history as we cross the Golden Gate of the Ozarks:
Many of the bridges in Arkansas are historic treasures but today's feature is quite the gem!
The Beaver Bridge, fondly nicknamed the "Little Golden Gate," is a gorgeous must-see in northern Arkansas. The bridge crosses over the White River at Table Rock Lake. It's in the tiny town of Beaver and is a great day trip for anyone visiting nearby Eureka Springs.
The bridge is well over 70 years old but age isn't its only claim to fame.
Although the bridge has gone under repairs and reinforcements, the original structure was built in 1949 by the Pioneer Construction Company. The Beaver Bridge was admitted to the National Register of Historic Places back in 1990. The one-lane wooden bridge is also the only suspension bridge open to traffic in the state.

For decades visitors have driven over this well-worn piece of history.
The scenic drive on Arkansas Highway 187 is a favorite for motorcyclists but anyone up for a winding cruise can enjoy this ride, too. In addition to the countless Arkansans that come see the bridge, our Little Golden Gate also made a movie appearance! Our Little Golden Gate has been featured in the TV miniseries "The Blue and the Gray," as well as the film Elizabethtown.
If you wanting to do more than a drive by, plan a trip to the Beaver RV Park & Camp nearby. Bring your kayak to paddle beneath the bridge or even pitch a tent for the weekend! This area of the White River is perfect for fishing, boating, or shoreside picnicking.
There are also plenty of other stops to make along the way.
Come for the pictures but stay for the charm of Beaver, AR. This is one Arkansas attraction that should be on your sightseeing bucket list.
