When you wander the wide world, you made find yourself returning to your home state in your mind. This is especially true for Arkansans, as there are a number of things waiting out in the world that are sure to bring the Natural State to mind. Below you’ll find 11 things you might experience out in the world that will leave you feeling homesick.
Arkansas is one of the most fertile states in the nation, and you know you’re home when you can see the endless soybeans and cattle grazing in a nearby pasture.
In addition to our abundance of fields, we’ve got an abundance of trees as well. More than 18 million acres of trees stand in Arkansas, and those forests stick in our memories.

Even our larger cities would be considered small towns by some state’s standards, but nothing says Arkansas like a tiny town with a few hundred people.

I learned how to drive on a back road that looked about like this, and I’d be willing to bet many of you rural Arkansans did too.
