You’ll need to leave any calorie counting, diets, or sugary inhibitions at the door before indulging one of the concoctions at today’s dessert stop. Vargas Fruteria is technically a juice bar and ice cream shop but these small labels don’t even begin to cover what crazy creations are offered. Let’s drool over just one of the specialties of the shop – the Freakshake.
They certainly have a splendid selection of fresh fruit juices (with a picante base for extra flavor) but that's not the only thing to enjoy here. Vargas Fruteria has two locations for your craving convenience.
Address: 1975 West Sunset Avenue, Springdale, AR 72762
Address: 1020 North Greenwood Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901
Whether it's sweet or savory, all of the menu items at Vargas Fruteria are extraordinarily indulgent.
The fried ice cream rolls, Hot Cheetos elote, ice cream tacos, and insanely loaded super nachos make any fair food look like plain potatoes in comparison. Really anything off the menu could have it's own featured article but today we're just focused on one of the desserts.

One of the Vargas Fruteria specialties is the Freakshake.
These are not your typical ice cream in a cup that you would get from a chain restaurant. Freakshakes come in two tiers with tons of flavor options. The standard comes in decadent single flavors like strawberry, caramel, chocolate, mango, etc. The Super Freakshakes (like this one pictured) are ridiculously indulgent. The Nutella Super Freakshake has a creamy chocolate shake, Cocoa Puff and mini marshmallow-covered rim, full sized chocolate donut, graham cracker, Nutella ice cream with cone, and a slathering of whipped cream.
We highly recommend having a spoon, plate for fallen debris (in this case Fruity Pebbles), and tons of napkins. Wet wipes are stocked on each table and for good reason!
The Super Freakshakes must be concocted from the imagination of a sugar-crazed child because how else would these mix of goodies come to be?
The Fairy Shake (pictured), S'mores, Cheesecake, Ferrero Rocher, and Ultimate Golden Unicorn are just some of the Super Freakshake flavors. Every one is deliciously absurd and completely irresistible.
These everything-but-the-kitchen-sink shakes are about $8 and worth every penny (and calorie).
Split one for date night, celebrate a family member's achievement, or just savor some self-indulgence with these one-of-a-kind Freakshakes.

If all that sugar is making you want to take a hike, burn off some calories in this newly opened nature preserve!
