The Buzzard Roost Scenic Area is one of the most unique spots in Arkansas. Weird rock formations (including an impressive natural bridge), cave mazes, and breathtaking bluffs make this area a must-visit. Let’s explore this family-friendly adventure that’s packed with one-of-a-kind thrills.
Buzzard Roost Scenic Area is certainly more than just a pretty spot.
We're using the term "maze" rather loosely here, but it is a neat area. Kids (and kids-at-heart) will love poking around the maze. Since the formations aren't actual caves, as long as your party stays on ground level, you can't lose your way. Seeing the crevasses from the top is an interesting perspective but be sure not to fall into any!
There's actually two in the area. The smaller one is easy to see from the trail. The larger one is along a short trail just to the left of the roost. As always, be mindful of small kids around the bluffs.
The Buzzards Roost is the perfect finale to a unique hike.
The roost is made of up "turtle" rocks that lead out to a gorgeous panoramic view of the Ozark National Forest. This is just one more fantastic Arkansas adventure.
