Arkansas native, Carol Ann Carson, has written for OnlyInYourState for three years now. She resides in Western Arkansas' Mountain Frontier but calls NWA home as well. The graduate of University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Carol Ann earned her B.A. in English and will soon be pursing her M.A. in Library Science. She loves exploring the trails around the Buffalo National River and has yet to find a waterfall that wasn't her favorite.
One more thing to add to your trip to the Buffalo National River is a fantastic zip through the trees. This two-hour canopy tour is simply breathtaking! Let’s grab a rope and swing through this thrilling forest adventure.
The Buffalo Outdoor Center is your one stop shop for the perfect Arkansas getaway.
The Buffalo Outdoor Center (BOC) has rentals for kayaks and cabins as well as tons of useful itineraries for the surrounding hiking, biking, and floating trails. Whether you're planning a wedding or a quick weekend trip with the family, the BOC is the perfect starting point for your Buffalo National River adventure.
Address: 4699 AR-43, Ponca, AR 72670
Staying on the water isn't your only option while visiting the Buffalo. The BOC also offers a spectacular zip line.
The Buffalo River Canopy Tour is a beautiful excursion through the trees of the Ozarks Mountains. The tour lasts about two hours and anyone from ages 7 to 50+ can take on the zip. The current record holder for eldest zipper is an 86-year old grandma!

The tour is broken into eight zips with a variety of speeds.
The zip line is intended to be more of an adventurous tour rather than an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride. The lines are certainly exhilarating but you won't feel the need to close your eyes and scream.
Instead of a slow-paced hike beneath the canopy, these zips allow you to see across hundreds of miles of forest. The lines are about a mile all together but showcase the surrounding mountains and valleys from every angle.
Speeding through a sea of green will be exhilarating but don't forget to plan a trip during the fall as well.
The full zip tour is $89/person with group discounts available. For all the details and booking information, visit their website right here. For inspiring trip photos you can also follow their Facebook Page.
