Arkansans love making good deals, which means our state is filled with fantastic thrift stores. This road trip highlights some of the best stops for bargains. Let’s put on a good playlist and hit the road for some much needed shopping therapy.
You may have noticed that this particular road trip will definitely take longer than a day. As you plot out your long weekend getaway keep in mind that the Cotton Shed really deserves a full day of exploration. After all, it's 32,000-sq. ft and 400+ vendors is a lot to process in one visit. The Cotton Shed (formally known as Blue Suede Shoes) is located at 22460 I-30, Bryant, AR 72022. For more information visit their website or Facebook Page.
Fort Smith has quite a few excellent thrift stores but our favorite is the oversized Veterans Thrift Town. Even with its large inventory, every product is cleaned and tested (like electronics) to make sure your bargain find isn't broken. Veterans is located across from Ramsey Junior High School at 3500 Jenny Lind Rd. # B, Fort Smith, AR 72901. They're open Mon - Sat 9 am - 6 pm and for more information you can call them at 479-783-7225.
When you pull into the parking lot, Potter's House does look decently sizable but your eyes will pop when you step through the door. This huge warehouse has a unique pricing system that ensures an ever changing inventory Keep a look out for their fantastic 50¢ deals on items that have been in store for longer than four weeks. Potter's House is located at 2703 N Drake St., Fayetteville, AR 72703 (with additional stores in Siloam Springs and Springdale, too). For more information visit their website or Facebook Page.
It would be easy to spend the whole trip just hitting the stores in NWA but we'll continue east to Echo Thrift Store in Eureka Springs. Echo has plenty of odds and ends to peruse through but our favorite section is the book area. Tons of treasured classics as well as lesser known titles will make any bookworm absolutely delighted for an hour or two. Check out the whole store at 4004 E Van Buren St., Eureka Springs, AR 72632. For more information visit their website or Facebook Page.
The best word to describe the Flippin Bargain Box is delightful. Not only is the name ridiculously delightful to say, but the store and workers are a delight as well. The Flippin Bargain Box is west from the Flippin High School and Flippin City Hall at 171 W Industrial Park Rd., Flippin, AR 72634. They're opened from Tue - Sat 10 am - 4:30 pm (and until 2 pm on Saturdays) and feel free to call 870-453-7880 for additional information.
Continuing east, we'll head to another place that raises money for a good cause. More Old Treasures offers great 50% off deals as well as routine clothing bag sales. For more information visit their website or Facebook Page.
Although we could drive around the state for another week or two checking out spectacular thrift shops, we'll end today's tour at the King's Secret Place Thrift Store. This is one of the best places to go if you're looking for bargains on clothing. The shop does have other knick-knacks and such but we're sold on their plethora of clothes. Hopefully not-so-secret for long, the King's Secret Place is located at 307 W Ash St, Brinkley, AR 72021 and you can follow their Facebook Page.
