She loves exploring the trails around the Buffalo National River and has yet to find a waterfall that wasn't her favorite.
No two waterfalls are quite the same (Compton Double Falls may be the only exception) but today’s focused fall really stands out from the rest. Steele Falls is an unusual waterfall hidden halfway between Calico Rock and Fifty-Six – it’s fed by three springs! Let’s take the hike and enjoy the flow show.
If your wanderlust prefers peaceful remoteness with a waterfall reward then the Steele Falls Trail needs to be your next hike.
The area is perfectly located in the middle-of-nowhere, which is otherwise known as deep within the Ozark National Forest. Here's a helpful map of the falls.
Every season brings unique perks to the hike, whether it's the springtime flowers, summer greenery, or bug-free winter. The hike is just under three miles and rated moderate for the elevation gain. The out-and-back hike primarily follows abandoned service roads for a straight forward adventure.

Whenever you decide to take this hike just be sure to plan it after a decent rain.
This unique waterfall is fed by not one, but three springs! However, like most Arkansas waterfalls, it's best to view it in full force after a rain. The thrice-as-nice waterfall is a towering 60-ft. tall beauty.
This scenic waterfall is a lovely Arkansas adventure to add to your Gunner Pool getaway or if just want a new trail to explore.
As with any hike, we suggest researching the area further. Visit this site for GPS-friendly navigations.
