We’re reaching the end of summer but that doesn’t mean we’re out of time for a few more swim trips. After all, Arkansas won’t cool down for at least another month. If you haven’t made the trip (or just need another excuse to go) it’s time to visit the Kings River Falls. This waterfall-fed pool is the perfect way to wrap up your summer adventures.
This beautiful natural pool is part of the Kings River.
Kings River Falls feeds the turquoise pool found near the northern edge of the Ozark National Forest. The Kings River Natural Area has been owned by the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission since 1979. Take advantage of the seasonal hunting, year-round photography, and gorgeous trail in addition to your planned swim trip.
Address: 1543 Madison 3500, Witter, AR 72776
Most waterfalls rely on recent rains but the Kings River Falls typically stays wet year-round.
Two distinct alcoves surround the pool, the shelter behind the main waterfall and another to left. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore during your swim.
This cool pool is ready for your final summer swim trips this season.
Explore this family favorite in fall too for a gorgeous explosion of foliage surrounding the falls. Kings River carries its charm throughout every season!
