During substructure restorations, the church was lifted off of the ground to reveal quite a surprise: an old white oak stump. Samples of it as well as the wood from various parts of the church were taken and examined by Fayetteville's U of A Tree Ring Laboratory. Most of the church's wood was indeed from that white oak tree and some nearby trees as well. Thanks to the core samples, we now know the lumber used in the church's construction began growing in 1614.

Local historical societies hold meetings in the church and it has been a featured location for the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. The church can also be rented out for private events like weddings. Who wouldn't want to declare their vows in such a sacred piece of history?
