Rice and soybeans aren’t the only things to expect when visiting an Arkansas farm. Our local farms can specialize in everything from flowers to buffalo. A ridiculously tasty microbrewery may not be the first thing you’d expect to find on a horse farm but that’s exactly where you’ll find Saddlebock Brewery. Let’s take a lunch break to sit and sip at this little gem.
Tucked away in a Springdale farm resides the perfect little brewery.
The upper floor is used for grain storage until it is gravity-fed into the brew house on the middle floor. Using straight-forward manual labor the ingredients are combined by hand and processed into different craft brews. This floor is also where tours and tastings take place. The lower 3rd floor is the cellar where kegs and cases are kept or larger batches are fermented.
You may spot the hops growing while you're sitting out on the deck. Other ingredients are all found close to home like the War Eagle Mill rice used in their Farmhouse Ale. Even the parts fabricated for the brewing process were made nearby in Springfield, MO.

After you've learned about the entire brewing process, it's time sip on samples of Saddlebock's different brews.

We mentioned that Saddlebock locally sources their ingredients. One of those local places includes this charming grist mill.
