The Helena River Park is a relaxing recreation area on the far east side of Arkansas. Not only does it have the best views of the Mississippi River, this park also has plenty of chances to explore, play, and even learn a little. Let’s take a gander at this little riverside escape.
Families will always have plenty to do while visiting Helena. The Delta town is filled with historic treasures as well as fun activities.
One of the nature stops to take is along the Mississippi at Helena River Park. The picturesque park's most beloved feature is this incredibly long boardwalk.
No matter if the river is high or low you'll always find an advantage to visiting.
If the river is low the boardwalk towers over the banks of the Mississippi, which makes for a fun lookout. During any flooding the fishing is simply supreme.
The park has plenty of interpretive panels that discuss the ecosystem and history of the area. Learn about the importance of the river as well as the Civil War's Battle of Helena.

After a quick history lesson you can tour the park riverside.
Plunge in with your canoe or take advantage of the park's 60-ft. long boat ramp. We may be a bit bias but it's obvious that Arkansas' side has the best view of the Mississippi!
The park is filled with little gems that will spur fun family memories. Occasionally you may also catch the sight of an even larger treasure.
Paddle wheel steamboats routinely tour along the Mississippi and even dock at the park. Whether you're looking our from the boardwalk, picnicking under the trees, or paddling along the shore, Helena River Park can make for a great family excursion.
