The Postmasters Grill in Camden may be the most delicious place to eat that’s also on the National Register of Historic Places. Before becoming the grill we’re familiar with today, the building used to serve as Camden’s first post office. Let’s step into the grill and step back into the history of this unique place.

The Richardson Romanesque-style building was completed with a whopping $39,000 by architect Asa S. Morgan. The Old Camden Post Office was nearly demolished in the 70s but efforts were made to instead preserve the building on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2012, after extensive renovations, the post office became the Postmasters Grill.

Pieces of history are all throughout the restaurant from enlarged photos of Camden in the 1800s to original items from the post office. Just looking around the dining room will give you a thorough history lesson. The downstairs Coal Room or relaxing outdoor patio are options, too.
