There's Nothing More Arkansan Than This Annual Mule Jump
We’ve recently discussed the ridiculously silly goat festival that’s happening in the first week of October. It seems fall is the season for unique festivals because shortly after the goats will be the 30th Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump. Let’s leap right in and see what happens at this unbelievably Arkansan event.

Although it's known as "The Jump," the event is more of a rodeo/festival hybrid. The event happens on Oct. 13th, 2018 in Pea Ridge.

Since 1988 the attendance has grown from a hundred to over 6,000 mule owners and enthusiasts.

You'll soon realize where the phrase "stubborn as a mule" came from while watching the competitors.

This was the winner from last year's event, Sadie. She cleared 63 inches!

In addition to the jumps, mules can also compete in barrel, boot, or flag races. There will also be mule judging for the best looking creatures. Spectators can cheer on the competitions, enjoy live music, and peruse the dozens of vendors.

Kids ages 3-7 can wrangle a stick mule through a barrel race or pole bending competition.
