Not only does Mountain Harbor Riding Stables have guided horseback tours, you can also take a carriage ride in the mountains around Lake Ouachita! Let’s take this unique tour around the lake for a relaxing horse-drawn experience everyone will love.
There's no doubt that Lake Ouachita is one of the most beautiful places in all of Arkansas.
The balance of refreshing mountain air and lake-based fun makes this area the perfect way to reconnect with nature. The lake is known for it's many islands (which are perfect for camping), crystal clear waters, and endless supply of adventures.
Boating isn't the only way to enjoy time around Lake Ouachita.
You absolutely should take a dip while you're here but being in the water isn't the only way to have fun. Mountain Harbor Riding Stables, on the west side of the lake, offer a relaxing carriage ride around the lake and through the forested Ouachita Mountains.
Address: 722 Mountain Harbor Road, Mount Ida, Arkansas 71957
Riding around the town square during the holidays is certainly exciting but these tours in the forest are much more restorative. The carriage also passes by the Mountain Harbor Resort, which is a great place to turn your day time trip to the lake into a longer getaway. For more information on them, visit their website.

The riding stables have more typical tours as well.
For longer trips you can also take one of their guided horseback tours. Everyone aged six and over can take on the trail without any experience needed. Different trails are available but all are shaded and take about an hour.
Whether you take a carriage or a single horse, these tours in the Ouachitas are a perfectly relaxing way to enjoy this beautiful area.
During the summer, Mountain Harbor Riding Staples are open 7 days a week beginning at 9 am. For more details you can visit their website right here. You can also follow their Facebook Page.
