The Mississippi River State Park features a little bit of everything.
Each year the Official Arkansas State Parks organization features an outstanding park in the state. In addition to bragging rights the award is a shout out to the hard work the park's superintendent (and her team) have accomplished over the year. Way to go Kristina Root!

It's no wonder the park earned the award - it's simply stunning!
Many of our parks feature a lake or two but the Mississippi River State Park has seven different bodies of water for recreation! Kayakers, boaters, fishers, and summertime swimmers will really be in seventh heaven with the selection!
The state park has six recreation areas for campers with sites for RVs as well. Picnic around one of the lakes or stroll along the park's Bear Creek Lake Nature Trail.
The park is undeniably beautiful but if you'd like to see the reason for the award then you definitely need to stop in the visitor center.
