You don’t need to splurge on expensive airline tickets when you live in Arkansas. The Natural State is filled with beautiful and unique spots that don’t take a life savings to afford. One of the best small town destinations in Arkansas is Mena. The quiet railroad town happens to have a tucked away resort that’s perfect for your next trip. Let’s take a peek at this lovely mountainside getaway.
The Mena Mountain Resort is a perfectly tucked away paradise surrounded by the area's scenic beauty.
This fabulous lodge is the brainchild of Lou Longoria and Denni Collins. The property began as a small stone cottage purchased in 2004 but has since evolved into a full fledged mountain resort. It's located at 2817 Highway 71 N., Mena, AR 71953.
The sleek and modern feel of this resort is a rather unexpected find in the charming small town of Mena.
In addition to a relaxing float around the pool, guests can also enjoy fishing or paddling at the resort's three ponds. Be sure to take a moment to just sit one of the rocking chairs and breathe in the fresh mountain air, too.
This gorgeous getaway is wonderful resting place in between your Mena adventures.
Bikers can rest up before cruising the Talimena Drive, families can sleep in after exploring the trails at Queen Wilhelmina State Park, and adventurers will have a place to clean up after paddling the rapids of the Cossatot River. No matter what type of vacation you're planning, the Mena Mountain Resort can be your weekend getaway. Rooms are $149/night and can be booked at this site.
