Arkansas has endless thrills from daunting zip lines to ropeless rock climbs. Even just a trip to one of our state parks will give you a week’s worth of delight. If you’re needing a smaller adventure than Pinnacle Mountain State Park, the nearby Lake Willastein is a low-key alternative that doesn’t skimp on views. Let’s take a stroll around this gorgeous little park.
Lake Willastein is a dreamy park just northwest of Little Rock.
Everyone is bias towards their hometown's city park but Lake Willastein will make you a fan no matter what corner of the state you're from. The bridges, trails, and memorials make any recreation quite memorial.
The best way to tour the park is by taking one (or all) of the trails.
This park features Lake Willastein Trail, a 2.1-mile loop around the lake. The trail can be broken up into five different paths to fit any family's needs. Take the full loop for a morning run or zigzag around the smaller loops for younger children wanting to take all of the bridges.

Families of every shape and size will find something to love about this park.
In addition to spotting local wildlife along the trail, kids will also adore the park's playground. Grills and rentable pavilions make this park picnic-perfect too!
The park has a stunning veterans memorial that pays tribute to all five military branches. During the holidays, the park features tons of flags to honor our service members. Take time to read the plaques and reflect after walking around the trail.
This park has plenty of recreation both on and off land.
After playing and strolling around the lake feel free to get on the water too! Kayaks and canoes are welcomed here for a relaxing paddle. Catfish are always biting for interested fishers as well.
Whatever you decide to do at the park, you can be guaranteed that the whole family will love it here.
Lake Willastein is quiet, refreshing, and just beautiful from sunrise to sunset. For a little more information about the park you can visit the city's website right here.
