This Beautiful Mountain Lake Makes The Perfect Arkansas Day Trip
Lake Leatherwood is the one getaway spot in Arkansas that everyone will enjoy. From causal hiking to mountain biking, there’s something the whole family will love. Let’s take a drive to Eureka Springs and explore this beautiful area.

The 85 acre spring-fed lake is the featured attraction of the 1,600-acre Lake Leatherwood City Park. The park is located at 1303 Co Rd. 204, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.

The park is home to one of the largest largest hand-cut native limestone dams in the country. It was originally built by the Works Progress Administration in the 1940s.

Hiking and mountain biking attract the most folks but there's also water-based fun and unique rock formations to explore.

Two-legged or otherwise can enjoy the park's 25 miles of trails. The 3.4-mile Lake Leatherwood Loop is a great way to tour the lake.

The park does have a beginner trail for casual bikers but the downhill course is where experienced bikers will have the most fun.

Stop by the marina to rent a kayak or paddle boat. The spring-fed lake is full of bass, bream, crappie as well as catfish.

(Suited) swimming is a great way to cool off from taking all those hikes.

Lake Leatherwood has 24 campsites including three RV sites. There's also six cabins available, too.
