The lights around Fayetteville Square are beloved by all Arkansans but there’s more to do than stroll around the block. Continue your holiday celebrations with a visit to Holidaze, a pop-up bar on the square. For the rest of the month of December 2019 the cocktail bar will undoubtedly make your festivities merry and bright. Let’s make a toast at this cozy dive and check out their ridiculously decked halls.
The new bar on the block, Holidaze, is a Christmas dream come true.
Hannah Withers and Ben Gitchel, the owners of Maxine's Taproom and Leverett Lounge, opened Holidaze for the season. The pop-up cocktail bar resides in the old Stage 18 on E Center Street. Besides supplying plenty of good cheer the bar also benefits KUAF 91.3, NWA Equality, and the Magdeline Serenity House. Holidaze will be open nightly at 5:30 pm and is ages 21+ after 9 pm.
It's hard to keep your jaw from dropping when you first walk into Holidaze.
The wall-to-wall decorations and cozy atmosphere will instantly warm you up from the chilly stroll around the block. Any night is a good time to visit (until Dec. 31st, 2019) but the bar is also hosting quite a few events for extra fun. The ‘Nog Off’ egg nog competition, Women’s Musical Showcase, Out & About Happy Hour, and the Holidazzle Diva Drag Show are some of the events to look forward to this month.

There isn't an inch of wall or ceiling that hasn't been covered in Christmas cheer.
Wrapping paper on the walls, letters to Santa in the hall, red and green-lit bathrooms, and strings upon strings of light zigzagging the ceiling are some of the highlights packed into this cozy space. With every glanced across the bar you're bound to spot something new whether it's a tiny upside down tree hanging in the rafter or the how-did-I-not-see-that full size sleigh in the front. The explosion of Christmas decor really sets this place apart from any other activity on the square.
The food truck, Persephonē on Wheels, will be supplying delicious Mediterranean fare just a few steps from the bar. Garlicky Fries, Cheesy Gyro Pita, Golden Lentil Soup, and Holiday Hummus are just some of the mouthwatering items to savor. You can also just skip to dessert with an oversized Brioche Sticky Bun - yum!
All of the drinks at the pop-up bar are all merrily flavored takes on Christmas classics.
Sure you can grab a glass of your go-to draft but why not sip on a Holidaze Egg Nog instead? You could gift yourself a Santa Rita or get toasty with a Gingerbread Hot Butter Rum. The bar also has mocktails if you're needing to drive the sleigh that night.
Although Holidaze won't be open for long, friends and family will cherish their time in this short-lived operation.
