There’s no doubt that Eureka Springs is an Arkansan’s favorite place to visit. Besides being one of the most eclectic towns in the state, it’s also earned the title of “most hippie.” Let’s see what makes this unique town a haven for all things hippie.
Although hippies and elopers can be mutually exclusive, most couples that come to Eureka Springs fall under both categories. Besides having the classic courthouse elopements, getting hitched on the side of the road at a trolley stop garden, in the rain nevertheless, is also a valid option.

Basin Springs Park is a central hub for hippies. The park has drum circle gatherings on each first Saturday of the month and there's live music nearly any given day. It's also not uncommon to catch a hippie-friendly class like hula hooping.

It's fun spotting all the different statues scattered throughout the town. One piece that always appeases my artsy hippie side is the sculpture of Aza. The "Beloved One Created of the Stars" is a mosaic symbolizing the gaudy goddess of feminine cosmic energy.
