The Murder and Mayhem Haunted Trolley Tour isn’t your typical guided tour. Filled with outlaws from Fort Smith’s old Wild West, this historical haunt is a thrilling way to learn about the ghosts of the town’s past. Let’s board the trolley and see how many frights this one tour will take us on.
Fort Smith's Museum of History and the Trolley Museum have teamed up for a frightful evening event. The Murder and Mayhem Haunted Trolley Tour will take folks (ages 21 and up) around the most haunted places around the historic downtown district.
Judge Issac C. Parker and his wife will be narrating most of the tour. Murderess Julia Bourland and Deputy U.S. Marshal Marcus Woodward will also be in the cast. Will you dare join them to revisit Fort Smith's dark past?
The true ghost stories include particularly nasty hangings, local murderers, and a love triangle turned dark during Fort Smith's most lawless era in the late 19th century.
The thrills will be more than just stories, however. The trolley will visit the ghosts from the Belle Grove District and the Clayton House. In addition to devouring the terrifying history, riders will also enjoy a progressive dinner along the way.
Unexpected stops may occur since the Indian Territory Pistoliers will be on the loose. The nearby gunfights have been known to turn into trolley robbery, and the sudden shots will definitely make you jump in your seat.
No cheesy animatronics or overdone clowns will be found along this tour - only the truly terrifying history of Fort Smith and the characters to bring it back to life.
The Murder and Mayhem Haunted Trolley Tour will run five times between Oct. 25th-31st at 5:30 pm and 7 pm. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by calling the Fort Smith Museum of History at 479-783-7841.
