In a rather surprising study, Arkansans have been designated some of the safest drivers in the U.S. Specifically, Little Rock scored in the top 40 of QuoteWizard’s ranking of best driving cities. Let’s use our blinker and take the exit to learn more about Little Rock’s safe driving habits.

The website uses analytical data from millions of insurance quotes to look at the driving quality in major cities. Different factors like accidents and citations were used to determine the ranks of best and worst drivers.
Little Rock drivers ranked high on the best list and even outranked our neighbors in Texas and Oklahoma.

Little Rock placed as the sixth safest driving city for scoring low on each of the determining factors. Detroit, Michigan has stayed in the top spot for years while Portland, Oregon is the number one worst.

The city also has lower reports of DUIs and accidents compared to other major cities around the nation. Part of the improvement has come from more recent developments like the city's Friendly Driver Certification Program. Improved engineering for road-sharing between cars, bikes, and pedestrians, have also helped decreased traffic incidents.
Possibly another reason for the low number of wrecks is the access to public transportation.

The Rock Region METRO alone transports over 2.5 million passengers per year. This is one way to keep the roads less congested.
