Would you care to have spirits with a spirit? You could have a drink at the Crescent Hotel & Spa or have a dinner date at the Allen House. Four Quarter Bar may not be the oldest bar but the building does have restless spirits dating back to the 1900s. Let’s pour a drink and hear the tale.
The bar hasn't been around terribly long, but you may just stumble into a spirit at the Four Quarters Bar.
The North Little Rock bar opened in 2016 in one of the oldest buildings in the city. Ghost stories aside, this is an inviting bar to visit. The friendly atmosphere and surprisingly hearty meals make this place stand out from other dives. We'll get back to the spooky side though.
Address: 415 Main Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114
A brothel resided in the building way before the Four Quarter Bar existed.
In the 1900s, the building was known as the Dirt Bar. The house of ill repute had quite the dramatic love triangle. The story goes that the owner had become possessive of one of the women working there. The prostitute had fallen in love with a patron which caused the owner to turn into a complete raging monster. He ended up slashing her throat and throwing her from the balcony. Later on, the owner would suffer the same fate. During an argument years later, a patron killed the owner by cutting his throat and throwing him off the balcony as well.
It's certainly easy to see how such violence would leave restless spirits.
If you glimpse a woman wearing oddly historic clothing don't worry, you're not the first. Accounts of the two chasing each other have been reported along with other strange happenings. The staff at the bar will quickly confirm that items will move on their own accord, including the taps.
