Don’t dismiss Lake Catherine State Park as a summer-only vacation spot. The beloved Falls Branch Trail in the park is simply breathtaking in the fall. There’s no better short and sweet trail to hit if you’re on fall break or just needing a quick forest getaway. Let’s pack up the family and take a small fall adventure to Hot Springs.
Lake Catherine State Park is a favorite for summer getaways but it's not the only time you should visit the park.
The beloved park is also a fantastic place to visit after the leaves have changed color in autumn. This year the best time to visit will be early November. Lake Catherine is located at 1200 Catherine Park Rd., Hot Springs, AR 71913.
The lake is positively glowing when it's highlighted by all the fall color.
The 1.6-mile loop does have some elevation gain but is a good hike for just about everyone. Kids will love the footbridges and suspension bridge along the way.
