The Kite Festival In Arkansas Is Back For Its 30th Year Of Fun & Festivities
Enjoy Arkansas’ most colorful event at the upcoming Kite Festival at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Bring the kids to see the kites and kitties! Let’s learn more about this tigertastic festival that we can look up and forward to!

About 100 animals make their home on the 459-acre refuge, including lions, tigers, and even some bears. Turpentine cares for big cats (and others) that have been abused or abandoned typically as "pets." A trip to Eureka Springs should also include a stop to see the big kitties!

Every year Turpentine hosts the Kite Festival alongside KaleidoKites of Eureka Springs. This day-long festival will be on March 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The event is free but be prepared to pay normal admission if you want to see Turpentine's animals.

You can bring your own kite to the festival or learn how to make one with the experts of KaleidoKites. This kid-friendly event is pet-friendly as well so the entire family can enjoy the day! Just be sure any four-legged friends have a leash.

In addition to the kites the festival also has live performances from DJ Testube and close-up magician Carlos David, tons of food, and a hodgepodge of different vendors. KaleidoKites will also be holding a raffle for a 6-ft. kite so be sure to sign up!

The Kite Festival will be a splendid Saturday but in addition to kite flying and visiting the kitties, families are also welcomed to spend the night at Turpentine. You can pitch a tent, roll up in an RV, glamp in park's yurt or safari bungalows. Read more about the lodging options by reading this article.
