Eagle spotting is underway in Arkansas! Many of the state parks host their eagle tours in January but don’t let that deter you from grabbing your camera and heading out sooner. We’ve scoured the state for the best places to see these magnificent birds setting up their nests for the season.
Eagles can be spotted year round at the refuge but will be more prominent from now until January. Petit Jean State Park offers a free caravan tour around the refuge during Eagle Awareness Weekend in January.

Lake Dardanelle State Park hosts winter lake cruises throughout the season for a chance to spot an eagle or two. The best part? The cruises are free!

Another free tour can be found at Lake Catherine State Park. The upcoming Eagle Bonanza Tour takes place during a weekend in January (the next one will be Jan. 13th-14th, 2018). The tour includes a cruise and guided hikes.

Beaver Lake has several sightings of eagles throughout winter. Grab your boat or boots and see how many you can spot. The Hobbs State Park-Conversation Area will host an eagle tour and eagle photography class in January.

Lake DeGray may be the best place to see eagles in Arkansas. The have regular nesting grounds claimed near the lake that can easily be spotted from the state park's boat tours.

This delta area has a plethora of perches for eagles. Your best bet for an eagle spotting is either along the Dela View Trail or by kayak.

Eagles love nesting along the White River. It's not uncommon to share fishing grounds with them near Flippin or spot nests at the Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge in St. Charles.
