Not every hike has to be difficult like Hemmed-In Hollow or as long as the Ozark Highlands. This short and sweet trek to Crooked Creek Falls is as easy as it is rewarding. Let’s enjoy the drive through the Ouachita National Forest and take the quick hike to this beautiful waterfall.
Getting to Crooked Creek Falls is almost as easy as the hike to the falls.
This roadside waterfall is between Mena and Hot Springs, deep in the Ouachita National Forest. If you're traveling westwards you need to take AR Hwy 8 from Norman. Drive for 12.4 miles and then turn left onto FR#43. Use these coordinates to find the waterfall.
The trail isn't marked but the well-worn path is easy to follow.
A leisure stroll down to the creek takes less than 20 minutes. This hike is perfect for young waterfall chasers or those that prefer not to break a sweat when enjoying the beauty of the Natural State.
This waterfall chase can easily become a two-for-one by adding on the Little Missouri Falls. After you've returned to your vehicle, continue for 1.4 more miles along FR#43 and turn right onto FR#25. You'll take a left when you see the sign for the picnic area. For more details on the Little Missouri, read our full article right here.
If you’re stuck at work, not to fret! Just watch this relaxing video tour of the hike during your break:
