Some of Arkansas’ food staples can be rather odd to an outsider but there’s one delicious tradition that everyone can get behind – cornbread. Whether you prefer spicy or sweet, this side dish can make an appearance at the supper table every night of the week. Once a year, Arkansans come together to celebrate this beloved dish at the Cornbread Festival. Let’s season our cast iron skillets and prepare for this delicious fest.
The Arkansas Cornbread Festival may not be the oldest food fest in the state but it's certainly one of the most delicious.
You can expect to find a little bit of everything while strolling along the vendors. Local breweries, artisan crafts, and homemade foods will all be available.

Music will be playing nonstop at two different stages.
The festival is free to attend but you'll definitely want to get tickets to the cornbread tasting. For $10 (or $8 in advanced) you can sample every cornbread entry. Many of the competing teams will have side dishes, too.
There's no better place to celebrate community, have a fun family outing, or sample an endless variety of cornbread than at the Arkansas Cornbread Festival.

We recently discussed the Arkansas Bean Festival happening on Oct. 26-27th. Since there’s really no better pairing than pinto beans and cornbread, the two festivals would make the perfect weekend trip. If you’d like directions between these two festivals, use this map.
