As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
All of Arkansas is a paradise but one little slice you’ll especially fall in love with is Cherokee Village. The town was the first planned recreational community in the state. Today it’s a pleasant retreat with plenty of goodies to explore. Let’s take a quick tour of this lovely village.
Cherokee Village needs to be on your Arkansas trip bucket list for a couple of reasons.
It's easy to become enchanted with the 15,000-acre resort destination. Cherokee Village has seven lakes, two 18-hole golf courses, trails, and endless opportunity for peaceful recharging. It's the little treasures, from the Lake Cherokee Spillway to the old brook bridge over Raccoon Spring, that make this place a truly timeless gem.
There's plenty of natural features to explore during your day in Cherokee Village.
This gorgeous stair-step waterfall is located at Papoose Park (249 Iroquois Dr., Cherokee Village, AR 72529), though it's certainly not the only one in the area. The nearby Adahi Trail also has some lovely falls to chase.
We're particularly fond of Star Falls Cabins. The tucked away B&B has the best views of the river and a gorgeous riverside trail as well. For more information about the cabins and to book a stay, visit their website.
Don't forget to swing by Hardy before wrapping up your little vacation.
