As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
The campgrounds around the Buffalo National River are stunning to stay the least but larger groups may find themselves needing a few more amenities. The cabins and lodges have a variety of offerings but we love the artistic touch of today’s feature. Buffalo River Art & Nature Lodge will surround you in beauty, comfort, and all your friends, too! Let’s head to Marble Falls to see more.
Please note, Buffalo River Art & Nature Lodge are permanently closed.
The seclusion and size of the Buffalo River Art & Nature Lodge make it the perfect getaway for any tent-surpassing family.
The cozy cabins and campgrounds around this area are undoubtedly gorgeous but sometimes more elbow room is needed. This is where the Buffalo River Art & Nature Lodge can assist.
The massive 4,200-square-foot lodge is part accommodation and part art gallery.
In addition to the artistic pieces all around, the lodge also features six bedrooms, two kitchens, and full bathrooms. The Rec Room also has ping-pong, pool table, foosball, karaoke, Donkey Kong (important), and a selection of movies. If it weren't for all of the must-see natural attractions outside, you could easily spend a week inside here!
The lodge is less than six miles away from the Buffalo National River, specifically around Pruitt Landing. This section is part of the Upper River District and is a favorite for picnics and swims. Floating is also possible during spring and fall. If you'd like to see more about floating, visit the National Park Service website.
After you've played in the river, explore the area further with a hike or two.
This area has plenty of nearby trails but the closest is a section of the Buffalo River Trail. The Ponca to Pruitt via Buffalo River Trail is a 24.3-mile-long trek but by no means must you travel the entire section. The hike will take you uphill to multiple gorgeous vistas of the river below as well as traverse you by a waterfall! For a downloadable map of this trailhead here.
This is one Marble Falls stay worth writing home about!
The Buffalo River Art & Nature Lodge is quite the gateway to adventure or relaxation. Groups up to eight at the lodge are $295/night. After that groups up to 18 are $395, which means less than $22 per person! See all the details and book your reservation by visiting their website.
