Before reaching the Buffalo National River, there’s a delicious pit stop you need to make just south of St. Joe. Big Springs Trading Co. is a carnivore’s dream and any foodie’s delight! Whether you want to take a to-go box of deli meats for a riverside picnic or sit down for a scrumptious meal, Big Springs Trading Co. can feed your needs. Let’s see some of the drool-worthy choices on the menu:
So you're on your way to (or from) your Buffalo National River adventure but you're in need of a food refuel - you're in luck! St. Joe, north of the river's Middle District, has just the place.
The tiny town may only have a population of 130 or so, but it's home to numerous essential foodie stops. Ferguson's Country Store and Restaurant, Coursey's Smoked Meats, Craw Billy's Seafood Boil, and today's featured Big Springs Trading Co. are all worth-the-drive eateries. St. Joe is solid proof that Arkansas' small towns have all the best gems either natural or edible!
For well over a decade, Big Springs Trading Company has been fueling travelers and locals alike.
The more-than-just-a-bbq-joint originally opened in early 2003 as a modest diner and has grown quite the following. The appreciation is quickly earned, too - you only need one bite to fall in love with this place!

Inside you'll find a comfortable farm-style atmosphere and plenty of goodies to peruse.
We're only disappointed the aroma of smoked meats can't be shared with you! The whiffs of what's cooking will work up your appetite while perusing the numerous homemade jams, honey, and desserts. Most folks take their lunch to-go but you can sit down for a meal inside or out on the porch.

No matter if you're dining in or grabbing from the deli, all of Big Springs' meats are smoked in-house.
You may need to wipe your screen - that smoked brisket is downright drool-worthy! The smoker holds the juiciest briskets, sausages, turkey, pork loin, and even cheeses!
Burgers, sandwiches, giant garden-fresh salads, and filling platters can satisfy your cravings. Daily specials are always good option, too! This special is a smoked sausage "curly-dog" with brown mustard and local turnip greens.
If you're needing a quicker in-and-out, then the deli is your best choice.
