As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Regardless if Arkansas’ winter is a white wonderland or rather mild, there’s nothing better than a cozy cabin getaway during the season. The rustic homesteads at Bear Creek Log Cabins are perfect for the whole family or couples. Let’s explore the cabins and start planning our next getaway!
The Bear Creek Log Cabins are a peacefully secluded getaway since they're tucked away on 1,200 acres near the Buffalo National River.
These cabins are great for larger groups but don't overlook them if you're searching for a romantic getaway either. Between the five cabins, Bear Creek can host about fifty guests. Kids and pets are welcomed as well.
First, you'll have to pick which cabin you want for your relaxing retreat.
There's no wrong decision, but it is a tough one. Each cabin has plenty of room and is loaded with local history. For example, the Turney Homestead (pictured) was built in 1884 with hand-hewn logs from Snowball. Depending on which one you pick the cabins can hold between 6-12 people.
Plan your retreat as a festive getaway or escape the holiday bustle completely. There's plenty of activities to discover on the surrounding land including hiking, fishing/hunting, ATV trails, and exploring — you might even find an arrowhead or two. Bear Creek can be accessed for canoeing or raft the nearby Buffalo National River for yet another adventure.

Anytime is a great time to book a stay at the Bear Creek Log Cabins but winter does come with a unique perk.
Imagine sitting out on the cabin's porch and seeing Arkansas' wild elk herd! The elk are known for roaming around Boxley Valley, but the herd near Tyler Bend enjoys the quietness of Bear Creek as much as cabin guests. Wintertime is mating season for the elk which means they're typically easier to spot.
No matter how many folks you plan on bringing, a stay at one of these homesteads will be unforgettable.
Another perk to staying during this season is the winter discount! The off-season rate at Bear Creek Log Cabins will be in effect from January 1st through February 29th, 2019. The cabins are between $150-200/night depending on which homestead you select. For more information and to book your stay visit this site.
