Since it’d take a bit too long to scroll through the 80 restaurants and cafes we covered last year (although we do encourage you to look through the archives if you’re stuck on what your next adventure should be), we’ve gathered a few of our favorites from the past year as well as some newly opened eateries that need to be on your 2019 bucket list. Whether you’re wanting to make an effort to support your local mom and pop diners or just trying to find a new favorite, these 13 places a definitely worth a visit this year.
1. Watercolor In The Park - Little Rock
We'll begin our dining journey at a newly opened restaurant, Watercolor In The Park. The eatery opened its doors in November and operates inside the Arkansas Arts Center. You'll be surrounded by art both on the walls and on your plate. Their Honey Sriracha Fried Chicken will titillate all of your senses. 2. Meacham's - Ash Flat
You'll want to come to Meacham's for their impossibly large biscuits but stay for the delicious entrees. This feel-right-at-home eatery has specials that range from frog legs to sirloins to chili dogs. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. 3. Louise - Bentonville
The community field airport in Bentonville recently opened a new aviation center called the Fieldhouse. The center has a museum, outfitter, and an anything-but-ordinary airport cafe. 4. Amigos Cafe - Hamburg
Another newly opened eatery that's sure to be a favorite is the Amigos Cafe in Hamburg. The mostly-Mexican restaurant features handmade flour tacos and tamales but also serves a mean ribeye. Their dessert creations are downright dazzling with churro ice cream sundaes, tres leche cupcakes, and more. Amigos Cafe is located at 708 North Main St., Hamburg, AR 71646.
5. The Shack - Jessieville
The Shack may be beloved for their million and one milkshake flavors but don't think this little place isn't a great stop for a full lunch. Take a seat and tuck into a basket of catfish or just a good ole fashioned burger and fries. Take a shake to go while you drive to one of the nearby recreation areas for a well-deserved hike. 6. Pop's Place - Texarkana
This southern Arkansas shack is Pop's Place. The island getaway-themed joint serves fantastic Cajun dishes with bold flavors that just about demand a margarita. 7. Nima's Pizza - Gassville
Although the pizzas at Nima's are truly world famous, this little pizza place is unfortunately still considered a hidden gem. The pie tossers have won multiple titles in the International Pizza Challenge hosted in Las Vegas. You can order one of the winning recipes or create your own winning combinations. 8. Monte Ne Inn - Rogers
If you don't think award-winning chicken could be found next to abandoned ruins, then you clearly haven't taken the trip to Monte Ne Inn. The family-style eatery is right down the road from the famed Monte Ne ruins, which makes it a great place to stop after a day of exploration. 9. Postmasters Grill - Camden
It's always fun to eat at places that have been renovated from a different historical buildings and the Postmasters Grill may just be our new favorite. The 1880s post office was admitted to the National Register of Historic Places in the late 70s and became the Postermasters Grill in 2012. 10. Hoots BBQ - McGehee
If you haven't yet visited Hoots BBQ, we just put it on your bucket list. We recently visited the old cattle sale barn turned BBQ joint in McGehee and its rather amazing. 11. Sonflour Bakery - Dumas

12. Devito's Restaurant - Harrison
It's just about impossible to find fresher food than at Devito's Restaurant in Harrison. Take your rod to reel in a trout dinner at the creek next to Devito's. We'll end our bucket list with a classic - H B's Bar B.Q. The little house has served unbelievably mouthwatering meats for over 50 years. You may have missed this particular Little Rock BBQ joint since it's right in the middle of a neighborhood but not to fret, this will be your year to enjoy this time-tested eatery.
