Discover Cascades And Caves Along Almus Falls Trail In Arkansas
Let’s forge through the wilderness and discover a beautiful trail deep in the forests of Arkansas. The natural attractions are never-ending with this hike! Explore caves and view cascades along Almus Falls Trail. We don’t recommend this one for first-time hikers (maybe try one of these easy hikes instead) but any apt Arkansas hiker will enjoy the scenery with this one.

Almus Falls Trail is south of the Buffalo National River and within the Leatherwood Wilderness. You can get a feel for the area and see the trail's parking coordinates right here.

The falls are gorgeous and well worth breaking a sweat for! The trail is about 4.2-miles long and loops around Almus Knob. The hike is rated as moderate and not heavily visited so be prepared for some light bushwhacking.

Depending on recent rainfall the waterfalls along the trail are numerous! These pour-off falls are located further up Almus Knob.

They're not quite the show caves like nearby Blanchard Springs but they're still well worth touring! There are two larger caves on the east and west sides of the trail as well as numerous rock formations.

Don't fret, there are plenty of vista look outs with sweeping views of Big Creek Valley.

We highly recommend researching this area further before taking that first step! You can download a GPS-friendly map of the trail here. And, as always, be sure to Leave No Trace.
