I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
There are plenty of reasons to eat at a vegan restaurant. Whether or not you are vegan or vegetarian, many are seeking healthier alternatives for a meal. That phenomenon is bringing the carnivore crowd to more and more vegan and vegetarians eateries. Here are 4 vegan restaurants in Arkansas that even meat-eaters will enjoy:
At MeMe's Twisted Potato, fresh, locally-sourced produce is used to create comfort food bursting with flavor. Every order is made by Chef MeMe herself. Food takes a while to make (allow approximately 45 minutes) but it is well-worth the wait.
The mission of In The Raw is to make the world a better place through a raw, plant-based diet. Whenever possible, ingredients are organic and locally-sourced and they also practice farm-to-table. To eat "raw" is to consume food that is not cooked above 105 degrees Fahrenheit, leaving most of the vitamins and minerals intact. In The Raw has a rotating menu so expect something different every time you go. Try one of their vegan craft burgers, soup, and a vegan dessert for a guilt-free healthy meal!
North Main Kitchen uses high-quality ingredients to make from-scratch vegan fare for all to enjoy. Hot soup loaded with veggies is a must or perhaps a wrap, salad, falafel with pita and babaganoush, or fresh juice is more to your liking. Whatever you order, you are sure to find something tasty to enjoy.
And don't forget to order a plant-based dessert such as a vanilla ice cream with gingerbread pieces (seasonal) or a cupcake loaded with sweet frosting. Delicious!
4. The House Of Mental Eatery - The HOME, Little Rock
This vegan pop-up gets an honorable mention! The House of Mental Eatery uses the tagline "Let food be your medicine" and cooks up delicious vegan soul and comfort food. A customer favorite is the loaded vegan cheese dip style nachos. Check their Facebook page for dates, daily menu, and any announcements.
