U.S. News and World Report recently named Fayetteville, Arkansas the third best city to live. That’s right, of all the wonderful cities in these United States, Arkansas has a city ranked at number three. Here are the reasons they gave, along with some of our own reasons for loving the charming mountain city:

The Northwest Arkansas metro area, which includes Fayetteville, Springdale, Bentonville, and Rogers, is by far the fastest growing region in Arkansas.

U.S. News & World Report gave Fayetteville a 9.1 for value. CBS News Moneywatch named Fayetteville the fourth cheapest city in America. Fayetteville’s cost of living is 15.4 percent cheaper than the national average, and housing cost over time comes in at about $50,000 below the national average.

The article also says, "Newcomers often comment on the friendliness of Fayetteville residents. People wave and smile at each other in the street, and community events are well-attended." To which we say, well duh. This is Arkansas, we’re friendly.
This one speaks for itself.
The centrally located Dickson Street is a fabulous entertainment district. It includes a number of bars and eateries. If you’re looking for nightlife in NWA, Dickson is the place to be.
Though its reputation is mostly for nightlife, Dickson Street is also the place to be in the day time. It’s got a number of cool restaurants, unique shops, and truly amazing bookstores.
It’s pretty easy to bike your way around the city center.
