J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
The Eleven Point River begins in southern Missouri, but enters Arkansas in Randolph County north of Pocahontas. The river isn’t yet overdeveloped, so it remains unpolluted and near its natural state. Canoe and boat traffic are low, which makes the Eleven Point River the perfect place to get away from it all.
There’s a swimming area, too. You’ll also find several hiking trails, and you can arrange for a motorized tour of the river. For more things to do, check out Shady River Getaways’ website.
So what are you waiting for? Go forth! Enjoy the Eleven Point River!
