Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Considering how vast the Arizona desert landscape is, exploring it all on foot proves rather daunting. Yavapai Trail Adventures in Prescott offers an alternative, with guided horseback rides through pine forests, up Mingus Mountain, and around Watson Lake, among other scenic destinations. Beginners are welcome, and guests can choose between a variety of ride lengths.
Whether you're a first-time rider or seasoned equestrian, Yavapai Trail Adventures accommodates all ages and skill levels.
Hop in the saddle, grab the reins, and gallop through the pines of Prescott.
You'll feel right at home with owners Steve and Cindy. Incredibly knowledgeable, the couple carefully selects a horse for each rider based on ability and desire.
They'll guide you the entire way and have no problem taking the time to help kids build confidence on horseback.

The 90-minute ride is perfect for beginners. Traverse the lush forest growth, scale Mingus Mountain, or trot around one of several lakes -- the choice is yours!
If you prefer a shorter excursion, half-day lunch rides are also available. Pack the saddlebags and enjoy a picnic in the trees after a leisurely trot.
