I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is home to the glorious Lake Powell. Straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is a reservoir along the Colorado River that has provided a playground for outdoor enthusiasts for decades. However, drought has plagued the lake since the year 2000 and, in recent years, water levels have recently dropped to an all-time low. But great news has finally arrived this year. After years of record-breaking drought, the Lake Powell water levels keep rising, and you’ll want to take advantage of it this summer.
Will you take advantage of the rising Lake Powell water level this year? What’s your favorite recreational activity at this beautiful lake? Let us know in the comments. To learn more about Lake Powell and its rising water level, visit the NPS website.
