It’s time to dust off the hiking boots and enjoy reconnecting with nature while discovering one of Arizona’s natural wonders. This trail takes you into the heart of red rock country to discover a breathtaking natural bridge.
The bridge, known as Vultee Arch, is seen from the end of the trail on a relatively easy hike of 3.5 miles. Before you know it, you'll reach the base of the towering natural arch; but reaching the top will be a bit more work...
The hike begins at the end of an access road that, according to most, should be used only by high-clearance vehicles. Some have suggested they made it in a sedan; however, we don't suggest trying it. (By the way, dogs are allowed on the trail.)
Experiencing the views from the top of the arch are worth the extra effort if you can make your way up the steep incline and scramble over some scrub brush in the process.
The trail head for Vultee Arch is accessible from Dry Creek Road. From the parking area, take the trail to the right. (Dry Creek Road is the access road that should be traveled by high-clearance vehicles.)
The Vultee Arch trail is located near Sedona. Get directions to the trail head from this link.
It’s no coincidence that another Arizona natural bridge (Devil’s Bridge) is just up the road from this natural arch. Have you hiked to Devil’s Bridge? Read more here.
