Have you ever seen free-roaming wild horses in Arizona? Tonto National Forest and areas around the Salt River are the most common places to spot these gorgeous wild beasts. One underrated park to see them is found within the Tonto National Forest is Blue Point Recreation Area, and you can certainly spot wild horses roaming free here.
Found within the Tonto National Forest in Fort McDowell, Blue Point Recreation Area is one way to access the Lower Salt River.
In addition to migratory waterfowl that pass through the area in the spring and fall, you may get lucky and spot another species, one that's as beautiful as it is majestic.
While there are only a few hundred wild horses in Arizona, they are certainly easy to spot when they're in the area. Blue Point Recreation Area is one park where you may be able to spot some.
Hiking is an option here at Blue Point Recreation Area as well. Why not go for a moderate 4-mile hike along the Blue Point to the Ovens Trail? This is a beautiful area to explore!
