Railroads hold so much history about not only the towns they ran through, but also the people from all over the world who traveled along them. Train enthusiasts will love this charming restaurant located in a century-old depot. This once-bustling train station is now an iconic family eatery where diners can enjoy a delicious meal surrounded by memories of the structure’s incredibly rich past life.
Please note, Iron Springs Café has permanently closed.
Formerly known as Hillside Depot, this historic building was established by the Santa Fe, Prescott, and Phoenix Railway in 1894. Miraculously, it still stands as tall and proud as ever, preserving its history and serving up delicious food from its current resident, Iron Springs Cafe.
Climb aboard and experience a quaint charm you won't find anywhere else in Arizona. Memorabilia from the restaurant's past life takes guests on an enthralling journey through the ages.
Both indoor and outdoor seating is available, depending on the weather and your own personal preference. Enjoy your meal as the breeze gently rustles the umbrella over your table and imagine conversations had in these very chairs by rail riders many decades ago.
A unique fusion of Southwestern and Cajun cuisine makes up the menu. Fried oysters, enchiladas, gumbo, and green chile pork stew are just a few of the tasty options.
Specials change daily and are displayed the old-fashioned way: with chalk on a blackboard. Every time you visit, prepare to embark on a different culinary journey.
Iron Springs Cafe is located at 1501 W. Iron Springs Rd., Prescott, AZ 86305 and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cafe is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
